The Picture Project is about the men, women and children
behind the statistics of deaths by firearms in America.
Our mission is to create an exhibit of photographs of those whose lives have been lost to gun violence. To bring a sense of proportion to this uniquely American epidemic. To face our reality.
Our Vision is to support those who wish to affect change.
Family and friends of gunshot victims are invited to upload photos to this site, along with the victims’ name, age and date of death. Pictures should only depict the deceased—no one else should appear in the photograph. Only one photograph of each person will be displayed. If possible, please send a picture taken within one year of the person’s death.Photographs will be displayed on this site, and other social media, and may also be included in a print and/or film exhibit by the Picture Project. In addition to the gallery, each week a photograph with a short biography will be shared here and on our social media sites. Dates and places of exhibits to be announced via this website at a later date. Out of respect for the victims, photographs of known perpetrators of gun violence will not be included. For purposes of volume, we are including pictures of those killed from January 1, 2010 to the present time.
